Anesthesia in a nasal spray
Kovanaze makes anesthetizing as simple as using nasal spray. Kovanaze works as a combination of 3% tetracaine HCl (ester) and 0.05% oxymetazoline HCl (vasoconstrictor).
These two key ingredients work to help numb your upper front teeth from bicuspid to bicuspid on both sides. Kovanaze is produced by St. Renatus, LLC in Fort Collins, CO. Their unique, painless applicator was approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) on June 29, 2016, following 10 years of development. Kovanaze has been shown to be safe and well-tolerated in study participants.
Like other local anesthetics, the numbness wears off shortly after the procedure, leaving behind no painful needle injection sites common with typical anesthetics.
